the same year he started a leather exporting business. It
was not until 1874 that the Rieker Shoe factory, employing
about 600 people, was established in Tutlingen, Germany. |

A little
history on the Family Owned Company:
Mr. Heinrich Rieker founded the Rieker shoe company in 1845,
the same year he started a leather exporting business. It
was not until 1874 that the Rieker Shoe factory, employing
about 600 people, was established in Tutlingen, Germany.
After Heinrich Rieker's death in 1904, the factory was
operated by his three sons. The company continued to grow
and employed 2,000 people in 1969. The company was then
passed on to the third generation of sons. In 1975, the
company passed to Mr. Markus Rieker, who continues today
with the successful development and implementation of
quality footwear manufacturing.
With continued increases in German sales and exports since
1980, the company expanded and opened additional factories
in Europe. Rieker Schuh AG was established and located in
Reiden, Switzerland. This location made it more efficient to
handle the individual needs of the growing export market.
During this time, Rieker footwear was being sold not only in
Germany, but also in nearly every country in Western Europe.
In 1986, Rieker expanded to the United States, establishing
Rieker Shoe Corporation USA in Orlando, Florida. In 1990,
Rieker purchased Brevitt Ltd., an established and reputable
company in Great Britain, and Brevitt-Rieker Ltd. was
formed. In 1995, Rieker Shoe Canada Ltd. was opened in
Brampton, Ontario. The opening of these facilities has
allowed the company to provide better service and product
development for specific markets.
Currently, the total production of shoes manufactured by all
Rieker Group factories located in Romania, Slovakia,
Moldavia, Tunisa, Morocco and the newest addition in Vietnam
is approximately 70,000 pairs per day. Rieker employs
approximately 5,000+ employees worldwide.
Today, Rieker Anti Stress Shoes are available in 53
countries worldwide, including nearly every country in
Europe, Russia, middle and far Eastern countries, Australia,
New Zealand and the United States.
The USA corporate office is located in Orlando Florida and the
Corporate office in Germany is a little town named Tutlingen
in the Black Forest Area.
